Tropical Storm and Hurricane Preparedness
Hurricane season on the Gulf Coast extends each year from June 1st through November 30th.

Every year, prior to the onset hurricane season, GCTD, Critical Staff and Emergency Management of Galveston and Brazoria Counties, will meet to review the Facility and Operating Hurricane Procedures, and amendments will be made as necessary. The facility will continue to receive and produce service as long as it is safe to do so.

When the U.S. Weather Service predicts a Tropical Storm or a Hurricane to affect the Houston, Lake Jackson and/or Galveston area, a strategy meeting will be held to determine operations.
